Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) aspires to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders. CBT focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions (such as thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes) and their associated behaviors to improve emotional regulation and develop personal coping strategies that target solving current problems or concerns.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured program combining psychotherapy with a strong educational component designed to provide skills for managing distress, intense emotions, and negotiating effective social relationships. Originally developed to curb the self-destructive impulses of chronic suicidal patients, it is also the treatment of choice for Borderline Personality Disorder, emotion dysregulation, and a growing array of psychiatric conditions. It consists of group instruction and individual therapy sessions, both conducted weekly for six months to a year.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) incorporates a combination of techniques used in many other traditional psychotherapies. ART works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain, so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. ART accomplishes this through the use of rapid eye movements similar to eye movements that occur during dreaming. ART’s very specific and directive approach can achieve rapid recovery from symptoms and reactions that may have been present for many years.
Brainspotting Therapy (BSP) is a powerful neuroexperiential treatment modality. Unprocessed trauma or problems are frozen in time and stored in various locations in the brain. BSP uses the field of vision to locate the spot where a particular trauma, problem, or issue is stored and reverses vision to scan internally for unconscious information. Through attunement with the therapist and focused mindfulness, there can be permanent resolution of the problem. Biolateral music is used to enhance the process.
Mindfulness Training is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you are sensing and feeling in the moment without interpretation or judgment. Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and help reduce stress.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) is an approach that helps you identify irrational beliefs and negative thought patterns that may lead to emotional or behavioral issues. Identifying these beliefs and understanding where they came from can result in real and lasting change.
